Dubbing of various blends is essential material for fly tying. Especially nymphs could not come into being without dubbing. When choosing from the various blends, keep in mind that blends which have squirrel hair in are more rough and spiky looking - perfect for nymph thorax! Rabbit or sinthetic blends and hair are usually softer and more appropriate for dry fly tying or to use them as a base for making new dubbing blends. The last ones can be done using vast specter of natural and artificial furs, combining them in unique blends of your own. Squirrel tails or rabbit masks are perfect derivate to make dubbing blends. We should mention also moose hair, which is one of few natural fibers which finishes in a perfect point, making nymph tails looking so natural!
